About

I am currently a Research Associate at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL). Recently I completed a project developing a tactile fingertip sensor for robot hands and prosthetics, TACTIP. I am now in the early stages of a miniature medical robot research project. Before this research I was working in the space industry, mostly robotics, and before that I had a previous life in mechanical / aircraft engineering. I would generally describe myself as an ambitious and inspired technologist.

I have been involved in a number of creative technology projects such as Heart Robot, Arnolfini Super Toys Workshops, Bristol Dorkbot Hacking, The Eyes The Eyes Steam Punk Eye and more recently the Regenerator project. I favour metal work with big machines, but also like to tinker with electronics and software. My current main focus is exploring my new retrofit CNC machine’s capabilities.
